ITINERARY:
Friday:
DAY 1: BOARDING AT THE PORT OF MONTREAL - CREW'S WELCOME
At around 3 PM, the ship weighs anchor. After the Clock Tower, Jacques Cartier Bridge, Notre-Dame and Ste-Helene Islands and the La Ronde Amusement Park, we pass by the City of Sorel and the wonderful Bertier-Sorel Archipelago. At Lake St-Pierre, we watch as the ship switches pilots. We later sail under the Laviolette bridge and past the City of Three-Rivers and the Shrine of Notre-Dame-du-Cap. Around midnight, the ship passes under the two Quebec Bridges and we start to see the lights of the Château Frontenac and of Old Québec City.
Saturday:
DAY 2: DISCOVERING THE GASPE PENINSULA FROM THE ST-LAWRENCE
Early in the morning, we sail near Tadoussac at the mouth of the Saguenay River. Later on, the ship heads toward the south shore and we then sail past the towns of Rimouski and Matane and we start to see the impressive windmill park which stretches on hill tops all the way to Cap-Chat. Near Ste-Anne-des-Monts, the St-Lawrence River now flowing with salt water, widens considerably. As we sail past the Chics-Chocs Mountains, we discover the particular landscapes of Mont-St-Pierre , reputed for its wind gliding activities. We then sail past the lighthouse at Pointe-à-la-Renommée and the fishing port of Rivière-au-Renard, then around Forillon Park and the Bay of Gaspé. After navigating between Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island, the ship sails towards Les Îles de la Madeleine .

DAYS 3, 4 AND 5: DISCOVERY OF LES ÎLES DE LA MADELEINE

- Lunch at "La Salicorne" restaurant
- Visit of the "Grande-Entrée" fishing harbour, the largest one on the Islands
- Stopover at "La Méduse" glass factory
- Visit of the "Fromagerie du Pied-de-Vent" cheese factory in Havre-aux-Maisons
- Visit of the "Fumoir d'Antan" old smokehouse in Havre-aux-Maisons
- Short stop at "Dune du Sud" beach

Wednesday:
DAY 6: DISCOVERY OF THE GASPÉSIE PENINSULA BY LAND
In the morning:
Bus to Percé Town (for sale on board the previous evening)
- Optional circumnavigation of Bonaventure Island (for sale on board the previous evening)
- Other Tours available (inquire on board-$)
In the afternoon:
- We again sail between Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock and we then navigate close to the Gaspésie peninsula
- Landscapes are impressive
- Possibility of whale watching
At daybreak, we board Pilots near Les Escoumins and sail on past Tadoussac and the Saguenay Fjord, where many whales gather. We then pass by Baie-Ste-Catherine and La Malbaie, where we can see the famed Manoir Richelieu and its Casino. We then sail past St-Joseph-de-la-Rive, l'Île aux Coudre and Baie-St-Paul, sites that keep inspiring many painters. Following is Mount Le Massif, Cap-Tourmente Preserve, l'Île aux Grues and Grosse Île with it's Irish Memorial. Next is La Côte-de-Beaupré, L'Île d'Orleans and the Montmorency Falls. Around noon, we stop at the only walled city in North America, Québec City. Throughout the afternoon, we enjoy discovering the history of this unique city, wondering along the many cobblestone streets and visiting the shops and attractions.

DAY 8 : BACK TO MONTREAL
Early in the morning, the ship gets into Montreal.
Notes: - This itinerary is liable to change without notice;
- Please take note that you must absolutely book this cruise by phone, and specify <Art & Culture cruise> at booking, in order to benefit from the advantages of this package;
- Please take note that the cruise taking place from August 31st to Sept. 7 will make a stopover at La Baie in the Saguenay region and wont stop in the Gaspésie peninsula.
