M.V. C.T.M.A. Vacancier

If you suffer from a physical restriction or from a food restriction of some sort, you can be assured that CTMA Group offers services and help to make your trip more enjoyable. However, it is important that you identify your needs, in order for us to take adequate measures to help you as much as possible. You can reach our reservation service without cost at 1-888-986-3278. If you need help or if you have a restrictive diet, please inform our reservation agent. In addition, make your needs known to the personnel upon arriving at the terminal, specifically in regard to pre boarding of passengers, with or without a vehicle.

Our crew members and shore personnel are ready to help handicapped people. Special cabins are also available. Even if the design of a ship restricts the extensive use of a wheelchair, help is readily available from our crew. You just need to ask for it.


Booking a specially adapted cabin on the M.V. CTMA Vacancier

Clients in a wheelchair or those having a physical restriction may book a specially adapted cabin in advance.


Signs and billboards

Information signs and billboards have been placed at every key spot on the ship. All signs and billboards are placed in such a way as to maximize readability and are written in both official languages.


Busses and transport vehicles having a seat lift for the use of foot passengers boarding the M.V. CTMA Vacancier

A designated bus for the use of foot passengers boarding the M.V. CTMA Vacancier is equipped with a seat lift for wheelchairs. The friendly personnel has received training on how to use the equipment.


Elevator

The M.V. CTMA Vacancier is equipped with a passenger elevator accessing every passenger decks, including the vehicle deck. It is to be noted that under extreme weather conditions, accessibility to elevators may be restricted according to safety rules. We suggest consultation of the following section in order to get the elevator dimensions.


Manual wheelchairs

Terminal stations and ships are equipped with manual wheelchairs available to passengers in need of them.


Passengers’ area and cafeteria

Most general passenger areas including the cafeteria are conceived to be entirely accessible to handicapped passengers. If you require additional help, please ask one of the crew members to help you.


Cabins

The ship has a limited number of specially adapted cabins for the use of handicapped passengers.


Public toilets

The ship is equipped with accessible toilets.


Defibrillators

Several crew members have received training on the use of automatic external defibrillators. CTMA Group has automatic external defibrillators Lifepak 500 on board its ships.


Help for the personnel

The personnel has received training on how to help handicapped people, according to Transport Canada’s Regulation.


Emergency signals and flashing lights

Those fixtures are available at different locations throughout the ship. We suggest you get to know their locations when you get on board.


First Aid stations

First Aid stations are located on the main passenger deck. Although there is no medical personnel on board, there is a First Aid room equipped with a bed and medical supplies and several crew members are trained to respond to emergencies. As a precaution measure, we ask you to have your medical supplies along with you in case of allergic reactions. CTMA Group carries certain articles such as auto injectors EPI Pens onboard in case of emergencies.


Food Allergies

Passengers traveling with CTMA Group who have food allergies must inform the reservation agent, so that the necessary precaution are taken on board the ship when they travel. Upon boarding, please inform the purser of your condition, so that the necessary measures are taken.
